Road Deputies are assigned to one of three shifts and are primary responders to calls for services. Road Deputies are the backbone of the Sheriff's Office, comprising the majority of all sworn personnel. Some of the primary functions of a Road Deputy include; the investigation of criminal offenses, citizen's complaints, crime prevention, traffic enforcement, traffic crash investigation, service of civil process from the courts and sometimes social worker. Road Deputies are at work twenty-four hours per day, 365 days a year. Deputies patrol 420 square miles of Henry County, including all villages and towns.
