On December 25, 2005 due to budget cuts, Sheriff Nye was forced by the commissioner’s hand into laying off four road deputies. A total of thirteen deputies are involved in this transition of cuts, in addition to the four lost in layoff, four were forced to take pay cuts, five additional getting bumped to other shifts, some with 20 years of service. Sheriff Nye will strive to continue to deliver law enforcement services the citizens of Henry County have come to expect and deserve. He’s asking for your continued support through this difficult time of staff shortages.
